Soviet Ink

"The world is divided into two kinds of people: those who have tattoos, and those who are afraid of people with tattoos".  Today more than any other time in history, tattoos are becoming accepted as commonplace self expression.  Tramp stamps run rampant on college campuses all across the country, barbed wire and tribal bands shine on the flexing biceps of tough dudes everywhere.  Most inked up young and/or old folk's tats are blown away like a fart in the breeze when compared to Russian criminal tattoos.  A new London photography exhibit offers up a rare peek at the hard motherfuckers and their tattoos locked up in Soviet prisons.  They may be beautiful but don't be fooled these tattoos weren't laid with normal ink... unless you consider concocting ink from melted down boot heels, blood and urine "normal".

Might as well be a bulls eye,
.Stinky Britches.
