Emma Watson's fairtrade line launched today

Emma's eco friendly and ethical clothing has been launched today.  Over the weekend the Daily Mail's You Magazine punblished an interview with Emma including new photos! The Telegraph also has an interview with Emma and she not only talks about People Tree but some future plans (we'll touch on that below.) They also mention ASOS.com will be carrying the line for international customers.

Many media outlets have picked up on the story:

Instyle gave it props.
Ecorazzi likes the line as well.
The Fashion Plate ditto.
Fabsugar loves the clothing line.
The Stylist also likes the line.
Just Jared Jr basically quotes the Daily Mail.
The Metro
The Guardian has a slide show including photos of the clothes being made.
The Mirror

We got a few emails here at the Coffee Break about the clothing line being available in the US so we shot a few emails over to People Tree and they we quick to respond - in short YES the line is availablein the US. The first email returned said that the line would be available starting Monday. Early this morning we got an email form Katie Millar (customer services) that said they were in the process of confirming their non-EU deliveries and the line should be available to New Zealand, Australia, US and Canada by next week. So all is good, we just need patience! So remember to head over to People Tree and put your order in. They just might sell out.

An interesting article came out of Philly today. The Philadelphia Inquirer mentioned Emma was in Philadelphia this weekend! It sounds she's involved in a dance group at Brown.

"And headline this one Harry Pod-der: That was Emma Watson in a party of seven, rolling late into Pod (about 11:30 p.m.) after a dance performance at Drexel. The group enjoyed a family style meal of rock n’ spicy tuna, kobe beef, shrimp dumplings, lettuce wraps, macadamia chicken, wild mushroom fried rice, and chicken pad Thai. For dessert, the party shared a sorbet plate and Fluffernutter spring roll. The group was the last to leave the restaurant, about 1 a.m."

Our curiousity got the best of us and we hit google to find out what dance group could land Emma so far away from Providence. We'll we're not sure if we are right but we came across a website for Brown Badmaash! Badmaash is Brown University's South Asian Fusion dance team.  It appears on Jan 30 the team was at Phillyfest for a competition. So that date would work with the Emma sighting. We have no idea if we are right but it was fun to research! Check out some videos here (there's only 1 2009-2010 video.)

Back to the Telegraph, Emma had to say this about her future plans:
"She knows she never need work another day in her life, but says she would consider doing a second collection for People Tree: “If people like it and it sells, I’m committed.”

She’s equally passionate about her education, studying art, painting and drawing, history, English and poetry at Brown, and starting lessons in contemporary ballet in the summer.

“I’m going to be there for four years but I’m not planning to disappear. I’m auditioning for a play, Chekhov’s Three Sisters, and I’m still reading scripts. Where I’ll be in ten years’ time, I really have no idea. I am on the brink of making some big decisions.”

Further questions produce only an enigmatic smile. "

We are excited about the reading scripts part. She's always mentioned the desire to film during her breaks from college. As for the play, "Three Sisters," we had to do some more researching. We found Production Workshop is auditioning for Three Sisters. Again we have no idea if we are right. It's just speculation on our part but if it is in Providence I'm sure we'll here more from people who see it and the local press. We wish her luck on all her upcoming projects.
