Now that Ballet Shoes has been released and Harry Potter has been delayed, I've decided to focus a little on Emma Watson's upcoming films. It does seem that Napoleon and Betsy is supposed to be released next year so that would mean it's going to indeed be filmed this year. I found a bit of information about the director Benjamin Ross. He attended the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival on July 12, 2008 to introduce his film Poppy Shakespeare. The website gave his bio and it mentions Napoleon and Betsy.

About the director
Benjamin Ross (b. 1964, London) studied at St Catherine’s College in Oxford. He drew attention with his very first work, a crime drama based on a true story called The Young Poisoner's Handbook (1994). His made-for-television retro-drama RKO 281 (1999), about the making of Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane (1941), earned him a number of awards, including a Golden Globe and three Emmy Awards. After the short film Torte Bluma (2005), which is set in World War II, Ross took part in the making of the portmanteau film 3 & 3 (2005). He is currently teaching film studies at Columbia University in New York and working on the television series Terminal. His romantic drama Napoleon and Betsy will premiere next year.
Tale of Despereaux news
Universal released a detailed movie description. It truly sounds like they stuck very close to the book, which is great since the book is too be treasured. I decided to use a monsters and critics link since it does have links to movie stills in case you haven't seen them.
